Phase 2: u sound PowerPoint

Open ‘u’ sound PowerPoint (week 2 day 1 activity 1) that we would normally do this together in class. There are lots of opportunities to practice the saying the u sound. Make sure you get your magic pen ready (pointing finger) to practice writing the sound. I know you all have lovely singing voices so try your best to sing the song.

Activity: After there is a worksheet practicing the u sound. This will help embed what we have just learnt in the PowerPoint. Your child has to cut out the letter and spell the words.

Work to complete the 3D everyday shape sorting activity. Look at the Egyptian Pyramid you made last week, which shape is it?

My World & How it Works

Open Egyptian Pyramids PowerPoint (day 1 activity 3). Read or ask an adult to help read/explore/discuss each slide.

Make a map of Ancient Egypt. Mix tea bags and coffee with warm water in a bowl. Using a washing up sponge dipped in the bowl, begin to stain your paper so it looks old and interesting. Take a look at the map of Ancient Egypt (week 2 day 1 activity 3 – map) what can you see? Using the symbols (week 2 day 1 activity 3 – labels for map) plot your own map! Don’t forget to make/paint/draw the River Nile!
