Activity one

Follow the Youtube link below to watch our class story 'A Squash and a Squeeze'. Encourage your child to join in with the repeated phrase 'My house is a Squash and a Squeeze'

After use the rhyme sheet to explore some of the different words in the story that rhyme.  The support your child complete the matching rhyme sheet.

Activity two -

Complete the phonics sheet looking at the phoneme 'x'

Activity three

You will need: 20 bricks, lego, pencils, small toys etc.

Place 20 bricks so your child can see them. Start counting the bricks, counting the same brick twice, missing ones underneath. Say oh no! I’m is getting into a muddle again! What can I do to help me with my counting?

Model putting them in a line. Do this, but arrange them so there is a slight gap between each group of five. Count them together emphasising the 5s. Ask a child to close their eyes, with the other count out two lines one of 13, and one of 19. Ask the child to guess which line of bricks has 19 bricks and which has 13. Count to check.  Repeat!
