Day 2

My Communication

Today we are going to make silly sentences. In your packs, you will find a colourful semantic sheet. With your child go through all the picture reading them to each other. Choose one of each colour to make a sentence.

Read it aloud, does it make sense? Is it a good sentence? Could you make a funnier sentence? Send your funniest sentence to your class teacher so we can have giggle and put it on the website.

My Thinking

Listen to the story of ‘Storm’

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhUkQd-zjxA

Using the big and small leaves you made last week, make a two stage repeating pattern, for example, big leaf, small leaf, big leaf, small leaf and so on.

Work to copy and complete the building brick pattern challenge (week2 day2 activity 2). You will need Lego, Duplo or similar. When you have finished the challenge, see if you can use your bricks to make Grandad’s house!

My Creativity & Play

Today we are going to be making a wind chime. There are lots of different ways to make them. Below I have attached instructions for a nature wind chime. If you decide to make this one go for a nice long walk to collect everything that you will need.

You can also use coloured ribbons and a plastic cup. You can use teaspoons, old keys or a mixture of all of them. The best wind chimes use lots of colours so they stand out in the garden or in the house.

Once you have made your wind chime hang it up outside for your child to watch and send a photo to you class teacher.
