Day 5

Activity 1 - Smoothie making

Today we are exploring fruit! And although this is a smoothie making activity I would really like you to focus on exploring the ingredients with your senses. What do they smell like? What do the feel like? Do they have a peel? What happens if you mix one ingredient with another? Do you like the way they taste? Can you help chop the fruit up?

Maybe you have just created the most delicious smoothie ever and will have it for breakfast every day! Who knows?

Activity 2 – My Independence: Life skills

Good morning! Today we are going to be thinking about what we will be wearing today. Look outside at the weather (or maybe your weather chart) and think about the best clothes for today.

Activity 1

Now you know what the weather is like perhaps you can choose your clothes with help. Ask your grown up to help you put your clothes on.

Activity 2

Sing our special getting dressed song!

Activity 3

Can you choose clothes for your grown up or teddy and then help them get dressed?

Activity 4

Twinkl activity sheet. Dressing for the seasons activity. Can you cut out the clothes for your teddy and put them in the right place?

Don’t forget to ask for help when you need it!

Activity 3 – My Thinking and problem solving – Shape

Good morning! Today we are going to sort shapes.

In your pack, you will find shape labels, cut them out ready for your child.

Get your child to trace around the letters, and then place them on the floor with some space in between them.

Now challenge your child to find items around the house that could go under each shape.

I would love to see what you find so please take photos!

Activity 4 - My Creativity and play-Messy play or fine motor skills.

In these sessions, we will give you two options, in case you do not have certain materials at home.  Pick an activity and enjoy!

Option 1-Shaving foam-wet messy play.

Suggested materials needed;

Shaving foam (the cheap supermarket own ones are perfect),

Any of the following to make marks in the foam;

Paintbrush,

Glue spreader,

lollipop stick,

comb,

stick.

Activity

Squirt some foam onto a plastic surface (PVC table cloth, tray or plastic chopping board).  Have fun exploring it with your hands.  Squeeze hands, splat them and clap them together (be prepared for a snow storm of foam).  Enjoy getting messy.  Use your fingers or any of the tools to make marks on the table in the foam.  Can you make circles or lines going across, up or down, zigzags or wavy lines?

 Extension

Can you draw a face in foam? Can you write or copy the first letter in your name? Can you write your name?

Option 2-Dry messy play.
