Phase 2: ck sound PowerPoint

Today we are going to learn our first digraph. A digraph is two letter that make one sound.

Open ‘ck’ sound PowerPoint (week 1 day 1 activity 1) that we would normally do this together in class. There are lots of opportunities to practice the saying the ck sound. Make sure you get your magic pen ready (pointing finger) to practice writing the sound. I know you all have lovely singing voices so try your best to sing the song.

Activity: After there is a fun football game you can play with your child, instruction are attached below. This will help embed what we have just learnt in the PowerPoint.

Open ‘Every day 2d shape powerpoint’ (week 1 day 1 activity 2) and explore different shapes. Go on a shape hunt around the house (and garden if you have one!). What shapes can you find? Can you sort all the different shapes for example, putting all the circular items together? How many sides does each shape have? Count them and record in shape information sheet (week 1 day 1 activity 2 – how many sides 2d shapes)

Open Egyptian Pyramids powerpoint (day 1 activity 3). Read or ask an adult to help read/explore/discuss each slide.

Make an Egyptian Pyramid! Cut out net and stick onto card to make it strong. An adult might have to use scissors to score along the folds – fold and stick together! Can you paint your pyramid and decorate with glitter or special stickers?
