Day 5

Happy Friday!

We are travelling to the Caribbean today and the lovely Nat is singing us a Jamaican song.

Activity 1- My communication

Our book

Activity 2- My thinking- Number

Gung hey fat choy! It's Chinese New Years!! And to celebrate we are using food as part of our number work today! Food is a huge part of Chinese New Years Celebrations and a source of real joy. Hopefully our number activities make you just as happy.

Activity 3- My Independence

Today we are looking at preparing our homes for Chinese New Years.

Activity 4- Forest School

Our Forest School this week is about the moon because no matter where we are and who we are with the moon is always there. It just might not look like it!

I have also been looking at the Chinese New Year in my number which is a special festival for Chinese people that begins on a new moon.

If your grown up allows, look at the moon tonight. What can you see? What does the moon look like? Do this regularly and make a diary of the changes in the way the moon looks. Use your moon phases worksheet to help you. You could even go out for night time walk and see the world around you after the sun has gone down!

And so we take a break...

It's half term and we just know that you will be having lots of fun and adventures ahead of you! Enjoy the break and feel free to send photos and videos of all that you get up to.

We will continue to explore our multicultural world when we come back but for now; enjoy the rest of Chinese New Year!

From the Robins Class team.
