Doves

Summer 2, Water.

Doves class have been having so much fun on the farm! We have made lots of animals, and practiced the noises that they make. We have used our sensory trays for animal feeding activities. Of course we continue to enjoy P.E. swimming, and forest school, as well as all the other lovely areas we enjoy at Blackmarston. This week to celebrate the end of our topic, we had an animal visit. We stroked, walked and handled a pony, lambs, guinea pigs and goats. It was wonderful, a lovely end to a busy half term.

Fun at the Farm!

Doves Class are having a fantastic time, working on our 'Farm' topic. We have created lots of amazing, farmyard animal, art work. At forest school we created our own farms, using natural materials. In our sensory trays we are exploring animal feed, and bedding, like oats and straw. We always use communication boards, to help us choose what we like. We are really enjoying this topic, as you can tell from the photos!

Welcome back Everyone!

We hope that everyone enjoyed a lovely Easter break. It is very exciting to think, that we are now in the Summer term! Doves class are doing so well. Hopefully we will enjoy some nice weather, which will be perfect for exploring our lovely school.

Doves Class Exploring

Doves Class Are Amazing!

Doves Topic Web, Friends, Family and Pets.

Welcome to Doves class!

We are so excited to start our wonderful Blackmarston journey together.

This term our topic is Family, Friends and Pets so we will be spending time looking at people in our lives who are important to us. We will be exploring a range of different texts but our key text will be 'Going on a Bear Hunt', this will provide us with lots of opportunities for sensory exploration. Please look at our topic web above for curriculum coverage this half term.

We place great emphasis on communication, and we will encourage children to use objects or photographs to make choices. Then we will gradually introduce PECS and Communication Boards. We will have symbols that the children can access to communicate their needs and we will be using signing throughout the day. We are passionate about giving our children a voice.

We will be having regular sessions in the sensory rooms, soft play, Forest School, the hydro pool and the hall so the children will continue to experience different environments and gain greater confidence in transitioning between them.

We will share what the class have done using Class Dojo and this page.

We are always there for you on class dojo should you have any questions or exciting things to share (we love to hear about achievements made at home!).

We are really looking forward to making the very best of the year ahead, thank you so much for your support.

Julia
