The Worrysaurus
This week our story has been 'The Worrysaurus'. This story shows us how there is no point worrying about something that hasn't happened yet. We have made a class happy box, where we can put in pictures and things that make us happy. Whenever we want, we can have a look through the box to remind us of everything that makes us happy. We have made butterflies just like in the story. We used a special technique to make both sides the same. Before the Worrysaurus set out for his day he makes a map of the best place to have a picnic. As a class we made a map of the playground and look at different places we could have a picnic.
Sometimes I Feel
This week we been focusing on our story 'Sometimes I Feel'. This is a lovely book that links feeling to different animals. Throughout the week we did lots of different activities to help celebrate and learn about this lovely book. We made animal masks to help act out the story, the children loved making their animal noises. We went out to the woodland area and made animals faces using natural materials. During our fitness session we moved like different animals. We were as big as a bear, as small as a mouse and as happy as a lark.
Sometimes I Feel
Have decorated the class with funny faces to make our friends laugh.
Last week our class story was 'The Colour Monster'. One of our fun activities was to make slime monsters. We experimented with colours and textures to see what we could make.
Welcome to Puffins Class page!
On here, we will share updates on what is new and what we have been working on in class. It is a place we can share photos of our work and let you know of any upcoming events. We have a class of nine energetic boys. The class teacher is Ffi, our level three teaching assistant is Vicky and our level two teaching assistants are Julie J, Julie (Monday – Thursday), Donna (Friday) and Jo (Tuesday morning).
We have had a busy start to the new school year. We have spent the last two weeks getting to know each other and our new classroom. ‘Kindness Grows’ was the story we came back to, and we have been working hard to spread kindness throughout the class. Together we have made a kindness tree and are filling it with all the kind things we do around school.
Last week we read ‘The Colour Monster’. We have been experimenting with colour and exploring our feelings. Every morning and afternoon we check-in to see how we are feeling and if we are ready to learn. At the end of every day, we have reflection and say goodbye. On a Friday, we celebrate our achievements and have our class-star assembly.
