Summer 2 2024

This half term our learning is all about safety and rescue. We will be looking at different people who help us.

 Our key text this half term is: 

Zog by Julia Donaldson

Zog is a keen dragon at Dragon School who aims to be the best in his class and win a golden star. The story follows his attempts at learning to fly, roar and breathe fire, leading to a series of minor injuries for which a mysterious girl provides assorted bandages and plasters.

Summer 1 2024

This half term our learning is all about looking after our world. We will be looking at what we can recycle and ways that we can look after our planet.

 Our key text this half term is: 

Somebody Swallowed Stanley by Sarah Roberts

Everybody has a taste for Stanley – and the other ocean creatures just keep mistaking him for a delicious treat – but this is no ordinary jellyfish.

Most jellyfish have dangly-gangly tentacles, but Stanley has two handles. Other jellyfish have a magical glow, but Stanley has stripes. Finally, we find out Stanley (spoiler alert) is a plastic bag!

Spring 2 2024

This half term our learning is all about food and where it comes from. We will be looking at what we can eat and how it is grown.

 Our key text this half term is: 

The Enormous Turnip

A grandfather plants a turnip, which grows so big he cannot pull it out himself. He asks the grandmother for help, but they still cannot pull it out. So, he asks some other people and animals to help pull the turnip up.

Spring 1 2024

This half term our learning is out-of-this world because we are learning about the stars and beyond! We will be looking at all the planets and what it is like to go to space.

 Our key text this half term is: 

Beegu by Alexis Deacon

Beegu is about a little alien who crashes to Earth in her spacecraft. Feeling bewildered and alone she awaits a rescue signal from her mother. Beegu sets off to find new friends on this strange new planet.

Autumn 2 2023

This half term we will be learning about dinosaurs and all the different species. We will also be preparing for Christmas through a performance and crafts. Our key text this half term is: 

Tyrannosaurus drip by Julia Donaldson 

Little Tyrannosaurus Drip is vegetarian and peaceful and can't keep up with the tribe he is in. He eventually finds salvation in the arms of a Duckbill tribe where he realises he belongs.

Autumn 1 2023

Welcome back everyone! This term we are looking at all the different seasons. With our topic of seasons, we have been looking at what clothes we need to wear for each season. Our key text of this term is “Stick Man” by Julia Donaldson, which is a story about a stick who gets lost and just wants to return to the Family Tree.
