Activity 1 

 

Hello Everyone or should I say Giasou everyone!  Watch the hello song;  (Hello song from liss, with different ways of saying hello).

 

After, it is story time with Liss. Everyday Liss is reading a story about a child from around the world. Follow the link below!

Activity 2 - My communication 

 

Starter: Listen to Liss reading pages about Families from around the world from the book ‘Welcome to Our World’. (Pages of the book are available on PDF if you want to read them with your child.

 

Watch Cbeebies video of different children introducing you to their families below! 

 

 

Main –

Support you child drawing a picture of the members of their family. It might help if you have some photos they can use to help them. After, use the family names in different languages symbol sheet to label the drawing.

 

Finally, have a go at saying some of the family names in different languages. I have attached images from the book that have pronunciation guided to support you. But remember it’s just a bit of fun so don’t worry if it’s not perfect!

Activity 3 - My thinking 

 

Starter: Watch the story ‘Give me Half’  by Stuart Murphy

 

Explain to your child that you are going to explore turning whole into halves. Just like in the story there is two of you. Have a few different items you could use paper for this or food/role-play food if you want.

 

Say that we need to make sure we share the items equally so it’s fair! If you using food (fruit etc.) model cutting it in half and having a piece each. Say the sentence together ½ and ½ equal one whole apple.

 

(If using paper model cutting the paper in half)

 

After, Complete the sharing food lunch box activity.
