Day four
What day is it today?
Yesterday was day 3. Let us add one more day... So now we are on day 4! What day is it though?
Hello!
Ready for more singing with Anna? Let us sing our 'hello song' together!
My Creativity and play- Music
Guess who is back? It is our favourite music-maker Alison who always brightens our day with her tunes! We hope that you enjoy singing along with her.
Activity 2 – My Thinking and problem solving – Shape
Today we are going to listen to the story ‘The shape of things’ by Dayle Ann Dodds.
Once you have listened to the story, find the picture and shape labels in your pack. Talk to you child about different shapes and see if they can find any of the shapes in the picture.
Extension – Can you make a picture using lots of different shapes? You could use things around the house to draw around.
Activity 3 – My Communication, Language and literacy - Phonics focus
Good morning!
- Today’s phonics video from Liss is below! The sound focus for today is the ‘p’ phoneme. In your Day 2 pack there is a phonics parent support sheet. This will help you with the action and rhyme that goes with the ‘p’ phoneme.
- After, using the ‘find the sound’ sheet in your Day 4 resource pack support your child to circle all the things on the sheet that begin with the ‘p’ phoneme.
- Practice forming the ‘p’ phoneme on the formation sheet.
Activity 4 - My World and How it Works – Forest School
Good morning!
Let’s go outside and explore the world around us. You will be emailed links to the well-being breathing exercise video and ‘we are going on a leaf hunt’. However, just take time to enjoy the freedom of exploring the world around you!
If you can’t get outside I have also provided a Forest School indoors pack because it is also really good to explore the world around us in our own home!
Both our sessions start with a breathing exercise and a sensory walk. Today we are focusing on the things we can see. You can use the sensory sounds sheet to help you record what you see and maybe encourage you to look a little more closely to the world around you. Maybe you can see something that isn’t on the sheet?
Now we have had some quiet time taking time for ourselves and to look carefully to our environment it is time to make a person!
Activity 1:
Draw a body using a stick in a muddy area or using chalk on a pavement or paved area. Could you draw around somebody or could they draw around you? Explore the area around you for things to decorate your person with. Don’t forget to give them eyes, nose, mouth and hair! How are they feeling? If they are happy give them a smile. How would you show if they were angry?
Ext
Make sure that your person is dressed for the weather. If it is cold will they need warm clothes? If it is sunny how will they stay cool? Make the clothes as colourful as possible!
Take a photo of your creation and send it to your teacher. We would love to see it!
If you are having a day indoors then I have made similar activities for you to do because it is just as much fun to explore your home!
Activity 1:
Making a person. Draw a body on a big piece of paper. Could you draw around somebody or could they draw around you? Explore the area around you for things to decorate your person with. Don’t forget to give them eyes, nose, mouth and hair! How are they feeling? If they are happy give them a smile. How would you show if they were angry?
