Activity one
Follow the Youtube link below to watch our class story 'A Squash and a Squeeze'. Encourage your child to join in with the repeated phrase 'My house is a Squash and a Squeeze'
After use the rhyme sheet to explore some of the different words in the story that rhyme. The support your child complete the matching rhyme sheet.
Activity two
Pass round 4 diff boxes with lids, with 2, 3, 4 & 5 objects inside, e.g. play people/Lego™ figures. Support your child guessing which box has the most.
Take the lid off one box and discuss how it is quite difficult to count them when they are in the box. Ask your child to tip them out and arrange in a line, then to count them from the left, touching each object as you count. Agree which box had most and which had least.
