Here we are in the last half term of the school year! Our topic this half term is Transport and Travel, please click on the yellow star for topic maps and you'll find the one for this half term.

It promises to be an exciting one, with Sports Day and a class trip out!!  Hopefully the sun will be shining on us.

Welcome back to the first half of the Summer Term, we've had a great start and enjoyed playing out in the sunshine!  Our topic this half term is Minibeasts, please take a look at the topic map which shows you what we'll be doing in each of our curriculum areas.

Minibeasts Topic Map Summer 1

Minibeast Hunting

Healthy Snacks - fruit salad, pitta pizzas and frozen yoghurt bark

Planting and looking after our seeds

Meeting the new baby chicks

Getting ready for Easter with egg hunts and making chocolate nests

As part of Science week we explored ice melting.  Different objects were trapped in the ice and we helped to set them free!

As part of our topic My Body we explored some of our senses.  We smelt oils and vinegar, we touched lentils and noodles and we made delicious welsh cakes to taste.

World Book Day 2025 - some of us dressed up and in class we read Whatever Next with all the props!!

We celebrated Multiculture Week and visited Italy, Brazil, Mexico, Sweden and Greece.  We had a lot of fun tasting traditional dishes, wearing traditional dress and discovering each countries' flag.

Practicing our gross motor skills

Marvellous Magnets!!

Mark Making with different materials - sand, paint, chalk and berries

The Blackmarston Bake off for World Mental Health Day - Hello Yellow

Using our senses, touch and smell for things we might have in our homes that are hot and cold. We smelt coffee granules and jelly and we felt a hot water bottle and ice.

Sharing with our friends.

Houses of straw and sticks

Welcome back to school everyone!!  We have had a fantastic start to the new school year, exploring the classroom and having a full week's timetable.

Our key text this term is The Three Little Pigs and we have already begun to build  houses of straw and sticks.

Alison has been into class for our first music session of this year, it was lovely to see all the class in a big circle joining in with this.
